This Klein Tools 1613-40 Chicago Grip is designed for EHS, Messenger, and Guy Strand cable. The double V grooves provide four-point contact, which reduces chances of slipping and also provides proper alignment of wire and cable. All Klein grips are manufactured from custom drop-forged steel that is machined and heat treated for excellent durability. Each grip is individually hand inspected and actuated for proper function. Grips are also rigorously tested and pulled to rated load to ensure the highest quality and reliability. Works with aircraft, EHS, messenger and guy strand cable. Designed for cable sizes from 0.12 to 0.37-Inch (3.05 to 9.40 mm). Double ''V'' grooves give four-point contact, reducing chance of slipping and providing proper alignment of wire and cable. Designed for use when light, compact grip is desired and where conductor damage is not a factor. Works with Messenger and Guy Strand cable diameter range of 0.06-Inch to 0.25-Inch (1.52 mm - 6.35 mm). Gripping pressure of the knurled jaw is applied to 1/4-Inch (6.35 mm) cable area. Maximum safe load of 2, 500 lbs (1, 134 kg). Approximate weight of each is 1-pound.

This Chicago Grip is designed specifically to work with coated guy wire. This authentic Klein Grip is manufactured, inspected and tested in the USA. Klein grips are made of drop-forged, quality US steel and heat treated for strength and durability. Aggressive sawtooth jaw profile resists build-up from galvanized coating on guy strand and EHS cables. 5'' jaw length increases surface area contact with the cable, minimizing cable damage. Designed for cable sizes 0.218-Inch to 0.55-Inch (5.54 mm to 13.97 mm). Manufactured from drop-forged, heat-treated steel for excellent durability. Spring closes grip on cable helping to maintain initial position. Locking handle keeps jaw open while grip is placed on cable with a hot stick. Maximum Safe Load is 8000-Pound (3629 kg).
