Proximity sensors are typically used in industrial, food production, and manufacturing operations. The sensor detects when another object is in the area, without actually touching it. A beam of infrared light is radiated or emitted, detecting the object’s distance from the sensor. There are many types of proximity sensors: capacitive, inductive, radar, sonar, infrared, and photocell, to name a few. Check out our assortment of photoelectric sensors and infrared motion sensors, too.
