PTFE stands for Polytetrafluoroethylene, a low friction fluoropolymer used in a variety of harsh chemical applications. A PTFE sheet can withstand temperatures upwards of 500 degrees F and features excellent resistance against weathering and chemicals. A PTFE rod is similar in that it is constructed to have a tough exterior with a high melting point. PTFE Teflon strips are characterized as having a comparable coating to non-stick cookware. For additional strong chemical resistance sheeting, view our UHMW polyethylene sheets and similarly the nylon sheets. Our acetal rods also have high tensile strength with a low absorption to moisture ratio.
