About Tapered & QD Bushings
Quick disconnect bushings (AKA QD bushings) are flanged steel bushings used to mount a component to a drive shaft. They’re split through the barrel and flange, enabling quick install and disconnect. The split also accommodates some slight discrepancy in the diameter of the shaft. For use with timing pulleys, sprockets, sheaves, gears and other components having matching QD bores. Taper lock bushings have the same applications but are not flanged. Other types of bushings include keyless bushings, collard bushings and others. Products vary by bore diameter, bore brushing series, length and other considerations.
