About Tapered Roller Bearings
Tapered roller bearings are rolling element bearings that fit over shafts to support axial forces as well as radial forces, and can tolerate higher loads than ball bearings. They consist of a taper roller bearing cone assembly and a compatible taper rolling bearing cup. The cone assembly serves as cage which holds the tapered rollers and a tapered inner ring. The cup serves as the outer raceway, supporting the bearing rollers when they glide as the cone is rotated. Lubricate bearings regularly to ensure best performance. For more types of roller bearings and items involved in roller bearing assemblies, see our cylindrical roller bearings, spherical roller bearings, needle roller bearings, and inner rings.
