About Airless Spray Gun Tips
Airless paint sprayer tips are the business end of an airless paint sprayer. As such, they are perhaps the most essential of all paint spray gun accessories. Tip size is an important consideration when choosing tips for an airless spray gun. Tip sizes are represented by 3 numerals. The first numeral represents the width of the spray thrown by the tip (AKA spray “fan”) in inches X 2. The last two numbers are the size of the tip’s spray hole. Here are some tips about tips: the number 310 tip is for fine finishes, such as for trim. 510 is a fine finish with a wider spray fan, such as for doors. 617 is perfect for the exterior of a house, while 517 is best for interior walls. We recommend replacing tips after 20 gallons of spray.
