The catalytic converter makes up one part of a vehicle’s exhaust system. You may ask “What do catalytic converters do?” Its function is to reduce toxic gases and pollutants in the exhaust that results from running an internal combustion engine. It then converts those gases into less-toxic pollutants. The other parts of the exhaust system include exhaust pipes, the muffler, and the tailpipe. The emissions control hardware helps to prevent leaks and transmission of dangerous vapors.
