Dental floss removes plaque and food particles from between teeth, where a toothbrush can't reach. It helps prevent cavities, gum disease, and bad breath.

The American Dental Association recommends flossing your teeth at least once a day to remove plaque and prevent gum disease.

There are many different types of dental floss available, such as waxed, unwaxed, flavoured, and with fluoride. The best type of dental floss for you will depend on your individual needs.

Use about 18 inches of floss and wind it around your middle fingers. Hold the floss taut and gently slide it between your teeth. Curve the floss around the base of each tooth and move it up and down. Avoid snapping the floss, as this can damage your gums.
