About Dielectric Boots and Shoes
Dielectric footwear is an insulating, overshoe or overboot that is made of rubber and protects the wearer from electric shock and the accumulation of static electricity on the body . As protective, or PPE outfitting these electrical safety boots are an essential, risk mitigating component of any electrical hazard protection program wherever protection against step and touch potential is warranted. They are required per NFPA 70E Guidelines for persons performing equipment grounding near power lines, or for working around electrolytic cells, such as in smelting operations.
