Ferrules

Ferrules reinforce and contain the connection between two dissimilar portions of a whole, such as the paint brush bristles and the handle, the eraser on the end of pencil, and so on. In wiring, a collar end of a wire ferrule slides over the exposed, non-insulated strands of a wire, containing and reinforcing them, to form a wiring connection cap which can then be cut and shaped by a ferrule crimper tool. For other ways to finish a wire, see our wire terminals.
