Fiberglass grating is a type of grating that is used in a variety of applications, from industrial and commercial flooring to catwalks and decks. It is strong, lightweight, and corrosion-resistant, making it an ideal choice for many projects.

Types of Fiberglass Grating

Fiberglass grating comes in a variety of types, including pultruded fiberglass grating, molded fiberglass grating, and FRP (fiber reinforced plastic) grating. Pultruded gratings are made with high-strength fibers embedded in a resin matrix; molded gratings are formed by hand or machine into a specific shape; and FRP gratings have strong glass fibers woven together with a plastic resin.

How Fiberglass Grating are Made

Fiberglass grates are typically made using one of two methods: pultrusion or molding. Pultrusion involves pulling strands of glass through molten resin to form the desired shape. Molding involves pressing molten glass into molds to create custom shapes. In both cases, the resulting product is then cured at high temperatures before being cut to size.

Industries that use Fiberglass Grating

Fiberglass grates can be found in many industries such as oil & gas production, construction sites, food processing plants and marine environments. They are often used for walkways or platforms where durability and strength are key requirements. In addition to providing structural support for these applications, they also provide anti-slip surfaces which can help prevent accidents on the job site.
