The B2705-GO Pro Series Base is designed to pair with the 2610 Journeyman Chest and 2613 Pro Series Chest, expanding storage while preserving the bold proportions of a Pro Series configuration. Handcrafted in the Gerstner Dayton, Ohio factory, this five-drawer base adds both capacity and architectural presence. Featuring five drawers and a felt-lined top surface, the B2705 increases organized storage for tools, instruments, accessories, and collection items. The top surface is bordered with protective rails to help stabilize a chest placed above, creating a secure and balanced stacked arrangement. Crafted from quartersawn white oak and finished in Gerstner’s rich Golden Oak stain, this base highlights the distinctive “tiger stripe” figuring prized in quartersawn lumber. The golden tone enhances the natural grain character. Over time, oak will deepen in color, developing even greater richness and visual depth. The B2705 incorporates Gerstner’s trademarked Stop-Trac adjustable drawer system, reducing accidental drawer removal while still allowing full removal when desired. Drawer tension can be adjusted to suit individual preference, offering added control during transport and daily use. The traditional Gerstner front lid secures all drawers when closed and stows neatly beneath the drawer stack when open, maintaining clean access during use. Each drawer is individually hand-fitted to ensure smooth operation and precise alignment. Tongue-and-groove joinery reinforces structural integrity, while green felt-lined drawers protect stored contents from scratches and movement. When paired with a Pro Series chest, the B2705 creates a substantial and cohesive storage configuration. It may also be used independently as a compact yet high-capacity storage unit in workshop or home settings. As with all Gerstner wooden chests and bases, the natural properties of the wood assist with moisture absorption, supporting rust prevention for stored metal tools and instruments.
