Grinding Cones & Plugs
Finishing metal work often requires starting with larger abrasives and then switching to smaller tools. For example, once the cut off wheels and straight grinding wheels have done their jobs, you may find the need to get in closer. For detailed grinding, use grinding cones and plugs. The tapered, cylindrical shape of cone grinders gives them access to holes and tight spaces that other grinding media can’t get to. Grinder plugs, while not tapered, have a slightly rounded edge that makes them an excellent choice for edging castings. Used primarily for surface prep, these precision grinding abrasives vary by arbor hole size, maximum RPM, abrasive wheel type, abrasive material, abrasive grit and other considerations.
