About Hex Spacers
Hex spacers (AKA hex standoff) are used to provide insulating space between computer circuit boards or a board and another component, or wherever reinforced space is desired between two objects within a workpiece. Their hexagonal shape makes them easily wrenchable. Items are available in male-female or female-female forms and vary by material (steel spacers and nylon spacers), dimensions, screw size and other considerations.
