If your heating system uses water, it’s both a smart and safe move to monitor changes in the water temperature. Immersion wells, consisting of a well shell and spud, are designed to do just that, transmitting any changes that take place. The spud is threaded to fit standard boiler taps, and the well is inserted into the tank. Immersion wells are typically made from copper or brass.
