Lockout padlocks help to ensure that potentially dangerous equipment and machinery are secured and prevented from operating until repairs or other processes can be completed. These safety padlocks are often used as part of a lockout tagout kit that also includes tags identifying the person doing the lock-and-tag. Use of such systems is prescribed and mandated by US Federal regulation. Lockout padlocks may vary by color, body material, key type, shackle dimensions, compatibilities and other considerations. For more safety lock and tag systems, see our safety tags identification, valve lockout devices, and electrical lockout devices.
