Lugs are connectors used to terminate the ends of conductors, providing a secure and reliable connection to electrical components such as bus bars, terminal blocks, or other conductors. They are commonly utilized in power distribution systems, industrial settings, and commercial applications.

Lugs and split bolts are typically constructed from high-conductivity materials such as copper or aluminum. These materials ensure efficient electrical conductivity and prevent excessive heating or voltage drop at the connection point. Additionally, lugs may be coated or plated to enhance corrosion resistance and durability.

While both lugs and split bolts serve as electrical connectors, they differ in their design and application. Lugs are designed to be crimped or bolted onto a conductor, providing a permanent connection. Split bolts, on the other hand, are typically used for temporary or non-permanent connections and can be easily installed or removed using a wrench.

When selecting lugs and split bolts, it's essential to consider the following factors: the size and type of conductor, the current carrying capacity required, the environmental conditions in which the connector will be used, and any specific industry standards or regulations that may apply.
