Reduced Shank Drill Bits
Some drill chucks only have so much capacity, and the smaller shank of a reduced shank drill bit enables the drill to create holes that are larger than the drill chuck's typical bit holding capacity might otherwise allow. It can do this because the shank is smaller than both the bit diameter and the drill chuck’s maximum grip diameter. Available as high speed steel or cobalt steel, these bit selections are available as individual bits or bit sets. Other variations between offerings include brand, drill bit size, shank diameter, overall length, application, point type, grade, flute length, and other considerations.
