Rotary latches can be categorized into several types based on their design and application. Common types include compression latches, quarter-turn latches, paddle latches, and pull-to-close latches.

Selecting the appropriate rotary latch involves considering factors such as the size and weight of the door or lid, the required holding force, the desired level of security, the mounting space available, and the environmental conditions.

Rotary latches are commonly manufactured using durable materials such as stainless steel, aluminum, zinc alloys, and plastic. The choice of material depends on the specific application requirements, including strength, corrosion resistance, and aesthetics.

Installing a rotary latch typically involves marking the mounting location, drilling holes, securing the mounting base, and attaching the latch mechanism. Detailed installation instructions are usually provided by the manufacturer.
