Rubber-Cal’s Neoprene rubber is a tough synthetic rubber material that is ideal for industrial applications. Sometimes referred to by its chemical name chloroprene, neoprene rubber is a versatile material developed by DuPont in the 1930s. The introduction of neoprene elastomer met the increasing demand for a sheet rubber that could resist chemicals and outdoor conditions. While other sheet rubber materials may degrade quickly under intense physical conditions, this rubber neoprene is designed to endure. Our rubber neoprene is actually a powerful synthetic rubber compound made up of styrene butadiene rubber and chloroprene rubber (CR) to inherit the strengths of both synthetic elastomers. This mix of rubber materials gives the neoprene sheet a moderate resistance to oils, chemicals, and many damaging effects of weather. The vulcanized neoprene has a solid consistency and sleek black finish, adding a professional aesthetic to this highly resistant elastomer sheeting.

This thin neoprene performs well in temperatures from -20° to 212° F, which makes it the ideal choice for most industrial applications. High temperatures and industrial machinery are no match for this tough neoprene rubber, which is available in 10 different gauges to ensure the proper fit for any application. This 1/8” neoprene is one of the thinner options available and works best in highly detailed or delicate applications. Different applications may also require varying levels of neoprene durometer. This hard sheet rubber has a durometer of 60A, giving it a hard surface and a moderate amount of flexibility. The 60-durometer neoprene is stiff yet pliable, and works best in highly abrasive applications such as neoprene pads or bumpers. The elastomer sheets can also be cut down and used to make neoprene rubber gaskets, liners, and seals.
