About Safety Switch Mats
Mats containing switches that activate a process when foot pressure is applied are used when hands are otherwise occupied, or when a safety concern requires a weighted presence in a given area, such as a worker who must be on the pressure sensor pad contained within the safety mat to open access to an area or system. Other sensor-switched systems include proximity sensors and switches, photoelectric sensors, and infrared motion sensors.
