Description

The CBSQ uses Simpson Strong-Tie Strong-Drive screws (SDS) which allow for fast installation reduced reveal and high capacity provides a greater net section area of the column compared to bolts. Install Simpson Strong-Tie SDS 1/4 x 2 wood screws which are provided with the column base. (Lag screws do not achieve the same load.) Base plate provides 1 standoff clearance required by code. Post bases do not provide adequate resistance to prevent members from rotating about the base and are not recommended for non top-supported installations (such as fences or unbraced carports). Galvanized finish. 12-gauge base with 10-gauge strap. Use all specified fasteners.
