About Soapstones
Soapstones (AKA soapstone markers or soapstone chalk) are markers used in welding and other fabrication operations to temporarily mark metal surfaces in order to make precise welds or cuts. Largely comprised of the mineral talc, welding soapstone markers are soft, highly heat resistant, and will not contaminate the weld. Also, their marks are easily removable once the weld is completed.
