About Soldering Iron Parts
A solderinging iron (AKA soldering gun) is a hand tool with an insulated handle and an electrically heated tip that melts solder, a fusible metal alloy. The melted solder then flows into the joint between two metal workpieces to seal the joint as it cools, creating a permanent bond between the two pieces. Parts can include soldering iron tips, a chisel tip, a pan head screw and a soldering clamp, to name a few. Several accessories are available for soldering tools that can help to customize the tools for specific types of work.
