About Thermowells
Thermowells partially encase thermometers, allowing them to read temperatures while protecting them from the sometimes harsh conditions into which they are immersed, such as hot or freezing gases, liquids or slurries. Thermowells protect not only the thermometer but also the overall chemical process. They are usually made of brass or stainless steel.
