Unit Bearing Motors
A unit bearing motor is a type of shaded pole motor used in commercial and industrial HVAC, condenser refrigeration systems, and evaporator refrigeration systems (typically those needing power for 6" to 12" fan blades). An oil circulation system is built into these fractional horsepower AC fan motors, enabling vertical application as well as a longer unit life. In some applications, these motors may be interchangeable with ECM motors. Items vary by whether housings are aluminum or cast iron, horsepower, voltage, RPM, phase, shaft diameter, mounting type, motor design (shade pole or ECM), and other considerations.
