Wall thermometers are mounted to a wall, while desk thermometers are designed to sit on a desk or table. Wall thermometers may be more easily read from a distance, while desk thermometers may be more portable and convenient for close-up measurements.

Consider the accuracy, range, and response time of the thermometer. Accuracy refers to how close the thermometer's reading is to the actual temperature. Range refers to the minimum and maximum temperatures that the thermometer can measure. Response time refers to how quickly the thermometer can adjust to temperature changes.

The best materials for wall or desk thermometers are those that are durable and corrosion-resistant. Glass thermometers are accurate and reliable but can be fragile. Digital thermometers are more durable and portable but may be less accurate. Bimetal thermometers are durable and accurate but may be slower to respond to temperature changes.

Wall or desk thermometers can help you monitor the temperature of your environment, ensuring that it is comfortable and safe. They can also be used to calibrate other thermometers or to measure the temperature of objects or liquids.
