Bar stock is aluminum that has been extruded or rolled into a cylindrical shape. Extrusions are aluminum that has been pushed through a die to create a specific shape. Bar stock is typically more versatile and can be used for a wider range of applications, while extrusions are more precise and can be used to create more complex shapes.

The most common alloys of aluminum bar stock are 6061, 6063, and 7075. 6061 is a general-purpose alloy that is strong and corrosion-resistant. 6063 is a similar alloy that is slightly more corrosion-resistant than 6061. 7075 is a high-strength alloy that is often used in aerospace and other demanding applications.

Aluminum bar stock can be finished in a variety of ways, including: mill finish, anodized, and painted. A mill finish is the natural finish of the aluminum and is typically the most basic. Anodizing is a process that creates a protective oxide layer on the aluminum, which makes it more corrosion-resistant and durable. Painting is a process that applies a coating of paint to the aluminum, which can provide additional protection and color.

Some examples of the applications of aluminum bar stock include: structural components, machinery parts, and tooling. Aluminum bar stock is also used in a variety of industries, including: construction, automotive, and aerospace.
