The B590 is a mid-level binocular compound microscope with scalable features to accommodate growing labs and classrooms. The heavy-duty design will hold up to years of hard use, and is supported by a large set of accessories including epi-fluorescence, phase-contrast and darkfield kits. The microscope's binocular head uses a Siedentopf interpupillary adjuster which allows any user to easily align the oculars for comfortable viewing. For users with astigmatism or asymmetrical vision, the right ocular has dioptric adjustment to fine-tune focus. The ocular tubes are set to a 30° incline, and can be rotated 360° to accommodate viewing from various positions. The objective turret provides instant access to 4 magnification levels to easily focus in on minute details from 40X to 1000X. Additional 20X eyepieces expand the maximum magnification to 2000X with 8 unique levels. This covers magnifications needed for studying hair follicles, cells, and bacteria. The turret's reversed orientation provides more working room above the stage. These high-quality lenses are achromatically corrected to improve resolution and color accuracy. The 2-layer mechanical stage provides smooth and precise movement for examination of specimen slides. The stage's low-position controls are conveniently placed near the coaxial focus knobs for a streamlined workflow. Examining specimen slides is intuitive and precise for users at any skill level. A swing-out filter holder can be used to mount a color filter for band-isolation or to change the light's hue. The condenser holder uses rack-and-pinion movement for precise height adjustment.
