Dry & Oil Darkfield Condenser & Plan Iris Objective Set for Infinity Compound Microscopes. This is a darkfield condenser set for our infinity compound microscopes, designed for dry use with lower magnifications, and for oil use with higher magnifications. The dry condenser will accommodate lower-magnification objective lenses with numerical apertures lower than 1.0, and the oil condenser up to 1.36 NA. An infinity plan 100X objective with its own iris is included for optimal image quality at high darkfield magnification levels. The darkfield condenser uses principles of light-diffraction to suppress field-illumination, while illuminating the edges of otherwise-transparent or translucent objects. This is particularly useful for quantitative analysis of low-contrast specimens.
