Cuvettes are specialized optical cells designed to hold samples for analysis in spectrophotometers or fluorometers. They provide a precise path length for light to travel through the sample, allowing accurate measurements of absorbance or fluorescence.

Cuvettes can be made from various materials, including quartz (for UV and visible light analysis), plastic (for visible light analysis), and glass (for general-purpose applications).

The standard path length for a cuvette is 10 mm, which is the distance the light travels through the sample. However, cuvettes with other path lengths, such as 1 mm or 50 mm, are also available for specialized applications.

To clean cuvettes effectively, you can use an appropriate solvent such as water, ethanol, or acetone. Rinse them thoroughly with the solvent and let them air dry to avoid any contamination that could affect measurements.
