PETIT GRIS PUR squirrel hair is of the highest quality and holds a large volume of water which makes it excellent for mop and wash techniques. Generously sized and hand shaped, the unique point allows for full strokes across the paper while its huge reservoir lays down large amounts. Each quill is expertly wrapped by hand with copper wire. Series 991 and 5590 include a small amount of synthetic hair mixed with the natural blue squirrel fibers. These fine brushes are particularly appreciated by watercolor painters, especially for glazing, priming and washing techniques (wet-on-wet), but also by porcelain painters, gilders and many more. Please be aware that the fine, natural hairs break easily if the pigment is not washed out carefully after painting or if the painting surface is too rough. This set includes Series 418 Size 0, Series 5590 (Round) Size 10 and Series 991 (Flat) Size 10.
