DOWSIL 733 Glass & Metal Sealant in clear is a one-part silicone rubber adhesive/sealant that cures at room temperature on exposure to atmospheric moisture. Supplied in a 10.1 fl oz cartridge, it applies as a non-slumping paste — because it does not flow, it can be applied to overhead or sidewall joints without sagging, slumping, or running off — and tools with a spatula or paddle before a skin forms. It provides unprimed adhesion to cleaned substrates including glass, metals, and plastics, and cures to a rubbery solid.The sealant has resistance to weathering, vibration, moisture, ozone, and temperature extremes, and stays flexible from -57 to 177°C (-70 to 350°F), intermittent to 204°C (400°F). It is UL Recognized under UL 94 HB and complies with FDA 21 CFR 177.2600 for incidental food contact. It is used for OEM bonding and sealing on appliances, heavy equipment, marine equipment, and recreational vehicles.Applied to a clean, dry surface, DOWSIL 733 forms a tack-free skin within 10 to 15 minutes; tooling should be completed within 5 to 10 minutes of application. Cure proceeds inward, with sections up to 1/8 in. thick becoming rubbery solids in about 24 hours at room temperature and 50% relative humidity. Thicker sections and lower humidity extend the cure time, and confined-cure applications should be tested before use. An acetic acid odor released during cure dissipates once curing is complete.
