Dow Corning 748 RTV Silicone Sealant, Non-Corrosive, 10.1 oz

DOWSIL 748 Non-Corrosive Sealant is a one-component, 100% silicone adhesive/sealant that cures at room temperature on exposure to atmospheric moisture. It uses a neutral alkoxy cure system, so it cures non-corrosively and with low odor, and can be used for sealing and bonding on and around metals and sensitive substrates where acetoxy (acid-cure) sealants are not recommended. Supplied in a 10.1 oz cartridge, it applies as a non-slump, off-white paste that tools with a spatula and cures to a medium-modulus, flexible rubber.The sealant adheres to many substrates, including glass, metals, and most common engineering plastics, and has a measured peel adhesion of 7.0 kN/m on aluminum after 3 days. Once cured, it remains stable and flexible from -55°C to +177°C (-67°F to 350°F). It complies with FDA 177.2600 (when fully cured and washed), meets the UL 94 HB flame classification, and is UL Recognized under file E40195(N).Applied to a clean, dry surface, DOWSIL 748 skins over in about 15 minutes and becomes tack-free in about 46 minutes; cure then proceeds inward to a depth of about 2 mm within 24 hours at room temperature and 50% relative humidity, with deep sections and low humidity extending the time. An alcohol odor released during cure dissipates once curing is complete. Dow recommends DOWSIL 1200 OS Primer where additional adhesion is needed.
