Electric strikes are a type of security device that is used in conjunction with door locks to provide an extra layer of security. They are designed to work with many different types of locks, including deadbolts, and can be operated remotely via electric power or manually.

Types of Electric Strikes

Electric strikes come in many different forms and sizes, depending on the application they are used for. Some models feature adjustable backsets to fit a variety of door frames, while others may have additional features such as weather-resistant seals or reinforced housings for greater durability.

How Electric Strikes are Made

Electric strikes are typically constructed from metal components such as stainless steel or aluminum. Other materials like brass and bronze may also be used. The internal mechanisms consist of springs, solenoids, magnets, and other electrical components.

Industries that use Electric Strikes

Electric strikes are commonly found in commercial buildings where access control is important. They can also be used in residential homes for added security when using a deadbolt lock. Other industries such as government facilities and schools often rely on electric strikes for secure entry points.
