The A32PXA or PX32A is a mercury-free replacement for the once popular Mercuric
Oxide PX32 or E164 battery that was commonly used in cameras such as Yashicas
(Electro 35GL, Electro GSN, Electro GTN, Electro AX, MG-1). Mercury cells such
as the PX32 are now banned because of toxicity and environmental fears.
The A32PXA or PX32A cells produce 6.0 Volts, which is higher than the 5.6V
produced by the original mercury cell. Most devices accommodate the small
increase in voltage and function perfectly.
