Retractable nurse badge reel and key holder, also sold as a badge holder, ID card reel or retractable badge clip, in clear with a blue cord. The Super Duty strap was designed specifically for nursing use: it holds more badges and credentials at once - ID, access card, unit or certification cards - and is built to outlast commodity badge reels that crack, fray or lose retraction after a few months of daily wear. A split ring on the same reel carries unit keys, a med room key or a small penlight, so badges and keys ride together instead of on two separate reels. The zinc alloy carabiner clips to scrubs, a waistband, lanyard loop or bag. At 4 oz of retraction force this reel is roughly twice as strong as a typical inexpensive badge retractor, which prevents the sagging and bounce you get when a light reel is loaded with several badges. It pulls out smoothly for scanning at readers, med carts and time clocks, then retracts on release. The retractable cord made with DuPont Kevlar fiber runs on a stainless steel spring in a tough molded polycarbonate case that is strong but very light, and the twist-free end fitting keeps the badge from spinning up.
