Static Discharge

The static electricity represents a serious issue during helicopter hoist operations as the helicopter in hover builds up permanently huge electrical charge. The way to solve the problem is to allow the static electricity to discharge before any person gets in contact with the helicopter. For that reason, during hoist operation, it is recommended to connect to the hoist hook a wire long enough to discharge static electricity before personnel on ground grasps the hook or personnel on the hook touch the ground. If entangled on the ground, the KONG static discharge lead is automatically disconnected from the hoist hook thanks to the safety fuse from 40 to 60 Kg fitted between the automatic Twist Look stainless steel connector and the wire. In addition, a yellow textile fluo protection ensure a high visibility to the static discharge lead. Length 250 cm.
