The category of laboratory mixers covers a wide array of equipment designed to mix chemicals in a lab setting for many purposes, including the blending of samples, to conduct sedimentation studies or for staining. Such equipment includes overhead stirrers, vortex mixers, overhead shakers, wave platform shakers and others. These mixers are sometimes used with other lab apparatus such as immersion coolers and refrigerated and heating circulators.
