Vehicle Mount Handheld Spotlight with Magnetic Base HML 2. This twelve volt magnetic spotlight contains a sealed, all glass 35 watt lamp that provides 1050 Lux of illumination at 25 feet. The lamp is rated at 1 million candle power within a Larson Electronics. Like the entire all glass range, this lamp was designed and built for aircraft landing lights. As a result, the lamp not only produces a bright beam, but it also is completely resistant to vibration and weather related damage. This particular lamp contains a strong filament covered by a full arc shield. The shield gathers the light from the bulb and focuses it into the reflector. The resulting beam is highly focused but at a lower intensity. Thus, this light is fairly effective in inclement weather conditions, since the beam spread and overall intensity is reduced. The combination of the filament and the shield creates a more focused beam. Although not as effective as the Blue Spot, this lamp is a reasonable alternative for inclement weather use at a lower price point. The life of this lamp is rated at 150 hours within a Larson Electronics. This "reverse pistol grip" frame includes an aluminum bracket system that maintains beam position after placement. Combined with a 6 inch lamp and 3.25 inch magnetic base, this light configuration is counterbalanced for easy handheld use. More importantly, users can easily move from handheld use to vehicle or equipment mounting, since the handle system does not preclude simultaneous use of the magnetic mounting base.
