The cover is constructed from 14-gauge steel with radius safety corners and is insulated with 1 in rigid insulation, providing an R-value of 5.9. A continuous extruded Santoprene gasket is mechanically fastened to the lid interior to prevent air and water infiltration in all weather conditions.Safety and visibility are enhanced with high-visibility yellow and black caution striping on both the interior lid and the curb top. Inside, the door includes a positive one-point interior locking mechanism and a padlockable exterior handle, allowing secure access from either side. A standard automatic hold-open arm with vinyl grip ensures safe operation during maintenance and rooftop access.The hatch lid opens smoothly and safely with pre-lubricated compression springs encased in zinc-plated telescoping tubes, supported by fully welded brackets.
