Narrow Banded V-Belts are designed to provide efficient power transmission in high-performance and high-load applications where space constraints are a consideration. Their narrow design transmits more power in a given space and allows for more compact drive design than classical section V-belts. This significantly reduces overall drive cost.The banded construction consists of multiple single V-belts also called ribs that are joined together by a common backing which forms a single, cohesive unit. This design helps distribute the load more evenly and prevents the belts from flipping or twisting during operation. The banded construction provides greater lateral rigidity and stability, making these belts ideal for applications with pulsating or shock loads.The wrapped design provides abrasion resistance making the belt more durable and provides protection against contamination. As well wrapped V-belts allow for belt-slip during a torque spike or sudden change in drive speed protecting other drive components and reducing belt snapping.
