Park both vehicles safely and turn off the ignition. Wear safety gloves as a precaution. Attach the red clamp to the dead battery's positive (+) terminal. Attach the other red clamp to the donor battery's positive (+) terminal. Attach the black clamp to the donor battery's negative (-) terminal. Attach the other black clamp to a metal ground on the dead vehicle (not the battery) - like an unpainted bolt or engine block. Start the good vehicle, let it run a few minutes, then try starting the dead one. Once started, remove clamps in reverse order.
