Hexagon bar is a hexagonal (six-sided) cross section, size (Diameter) is specified by the distance across the flats. 1144 ASTM A311 Class B steel, often called Stressproof, is stress-relieved to minimize warping during machining. Contains higher amounts of carbon and manganese than other easy-to-machine carbon steels, 1144 Stress Proof offers higher yield strength and hardness, even without further heat treatment.
