The portable Moisture Meter enables the precise determination of water activity (aw) in various products. It measures water activity in the range from 0 to 1.0000 aw and temperatures from -10 to 50 deg. C / 14 ... 122 deg. F. The aw value indicates the proportion of free, unbound water in organic products such as foodstuffs or pharmaceuticals and is referred to as water activity. This value is crucial for assessing the shelf life and quality of products, as it influences the growth of microorganisms, molds and yeasts. In contrast to the total moisture content of a product, the Aw value is largely responsible for microbial stability. The Moisture Meter delivers highly accurate results within just 3 to 5 minutes and works with precise sensors that ensure an accuracy of +/-0.015 aw in the temperature range of 10 to 30 deg. C / 50 ... 86 deg. F. It has three different measurement modes: normal mode, fast mode and continuous display mode. Calibration can be performed with one or more points (two, three or four points). The 2.8 in TFT colour display ensures clear and intuitive operation, while the portable design and supplied instrument case allow flexible use in the field. The device also offers extensive data management functions and can store up to 5,030 data records. The measurement results can be easily transferred to the software and output via the micro USB port. Power is supplied either via a 5V USB cable or four AA batteries, making it ideal for different environments and longer test times.
