Made of a proprietary elastomer with unique flow and set characteristics to fill irregular gaps. Size d - 5" x 5". Slot size - 1-5/8". Tab makes shim placement easier and safer, while eliminating the need to place hands under the machinery during installation or removal of shim. Blue sof' shoe elastomer shims are 0.020" thick, compress to 0.0175", and absorb up to 0.010" of angularity. Precision brand sof' shoe elastomer shim solves angular soft foot alignment problems on motors, pumps, generators, turbines, and other plant machinery in minutes. Sof' shoe cures angular soft foot and extends bearing and motor life. It is an inexpensive alternative when compared to more time consuming and expensive options such as milling the base or foot, hand cutting graduated shims, replacing base, or rebuilding base with poured epoxy. Each sof' shoe elastomer shim's thickness has a 12 percent flat compression under standard bolt torque, yet will absorb the angularity of nearly half its thickness.
