The Chipbreaker Compression Solid Carbide router bit is used mostly for machining plywood and non laminated osb. The compression geometry leave great finish on the top and bottom of the material. The chipbreakers are notches in the edges of the fluting that facilitate the breaking up of wood chips. The notches are cut into the flutes in such a way the flute following doesn't have a notch in that particular space so the tool still provides an excellent finish.
