Quick Change Discs, also known as Quick Lok Discs, are versatile abrasive discs used for surface preparation, blending, and finishing. They are designed to provide easy and rapid disc changes to improve productivity and reduce downtime. Quick Change Discs are used in a wide range of industries, from metalworking and woodworking to automotive and aerospace. They are available in different diameters, abrasive types, and attachment systems to meet specific applications and requirements.

Types of Quick Change Discs

Quick Change Discs come in various types, including surface conditioning discs and abrasive discs. Surface conditioning discs are made with non-woven nylon fibers impregnated with abrasive particles, which are ideal for cleaning, deburring, and blending surfaces. Abrasive discs, on the other hand, are made with coated abrasive materials such as aluminum oxide and zirconia alumina, which are suited for grinding, sanding, and finishing. Quick Change Discs can also have different attachment types, such as the popular Roloc and Socatt systems, which allow for quick and secure mounting and removal.

How Quick Change Discs are Made

Quick Change Discs are constructed using advanced manufacturing processes and materials that ensure their durability, performance, and safety. They typically consist of a backing material, an adhesive layer, and an abrasive layer. The backing material can be made of various materials such as plastic, fiberglass, or metal, depending on the application and the level of flexibility or rigidity needed. The abrasive layer is made of abrasive particles bonded to the backing material with resin or other bonding agents, while the adhesive layer serves to attach the disc to the attachment system.
