Recessed Grinding Wheels are a type of grinding wheel designed to provide superior performance when grinding and finishing metal surfaces. These wheels feature a recessed center that helps to reduce friction, improve the speed of the grind, and extend the life of the wheel.

Types of Recessed Grinding Wheels

Recessed grinding wheels come in a variety of sizes and shapes, depending on their intended use. Some are made with softer materials for use on delicate materials while others are designed with harder materials for more aggressive grinding applications. The recessing in the center can also vary in size and shape.

How Recessed Grinding Wheels are Made

Recessed grinding wheels are typically made from high-grade aluminum oxide or silicon carbide abrasive material. This material is then bonded to a metal core which provides structural support as well as additional cooling during operation. In some cases, diamond grit may be used for extra strength and longevity.

Industries that use Recessed Grinding Wheels

Recessed grinding wheels are commonly used by machinists, welders, fabricators, automotive technicians, and many other professionals who need precise surface finishing results. They can be used on both ferrous and non-ferrous metals as well as many other hard materials.
