Their increased thickness over conventional interface pads further reduces the likelihood of over-sanding and creating uneven spots, by helping to compensate for the pressure being put on the dual-action sanding machine.As shown below, the Extra-Thick 5 in Sanding Interface Pads offer nearly twice as much padding as conventional, garden-variety foam interface pads. While many interface pads are about 1/4 in thick, we offer a heftier 7/8 in thick pad.How do I mount an Interface Pad?The 5 in Sanding Interface Pad should be mounted between the face of the dual action sander and the sanding disc itself
